Club Golf starts the new year with a TopGolf kick-off event

Established by Abby Yoo, Club Golf is a Hopkins club sports team founded to provide a space for golf-lovers to practice. Although golf is a sport with a strong following nationwide, Hopkins students have historically lacked an organized outlet for playing it on campus. Yoo created the club to fill that gap.

MLB Power Rankings - September 5th

Now more than ever, parity reigns in Major League Baseball. It’s unlikely there will be a single 100-win team this season. The top three, and even the top 10, are tightly packed in terms of talent, with many teams poised for deep playoff runs. Here’s how they stack up in early September:

Hopkins Sports in Review (Sept. 8 – 14)

School is officially back in session! It’s been a couple of weeks since our first day of classes, and so the fall season of Hopkins sports are well underway. The 2024-25 was an immense success for the Blue Jays, as they finished runners up in the DIII Learfield Director’s Cup, only trailing Emory University.

A post summer break F1 update

Last Sunday marked the return of invigorating high-speed motor sport after an almost four-week hiatus. While everyone is markedly elated to have racing back, the typical gossip-worthy driver moves that come over this break were almost completely absent this summer.

SB2K17: Looking Back on The Spring Break Curse

In the largest declaration of “bro-culture” in pro golf since John Daly, the 2017 spring break Snapchat stories of Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Smylie Kaufman tearing up the Baker’s Bay Club in the Bahamas took their rightful place in the (albeit sparse) rafters of moments golf that was cool.

With the NFL Draft coming up, Branson gives his predictions for the chaos that could ensue.

2025 NFL mock draft: Unlikely landing spot for top QB while running backs go high

It’s that time of the year again! I’m back for my second year of NFL Mock Drafts, hopefully with more success than last year. The incoming draft class doesn’t have the same kind of top-end quarterback talent as 2024’s, and so in some respects that makes the process all the more interesting. So, without further ado, lets dive into the action of what might take place this Thursday!

A beginner’s guide to baseball analytics

We are barely 20 games into the 2025–2026 MLB season, yet we have already been bombarded with headlines that have begun shaping the future of baseball. In particular, the “torpedo” bat has become a contentious topic. However, this innovation is simply another step forward in the analytical revolution that is taking over baseball.

2025 NFL Draft: Five of my favorite first round matches

We are officially reaching the peak of NFL Draft season, so there’s no better time to take a look at some of my favorite potential picks in the first round. Last year I discussed a similar topic, and in retrospect I’m pretty stoked to see most of the predictions I made: particularly Quinyon Mitchell going to the Eagles, a pick that ended up contributing considerably to their Super Bowl victory.

At the Heart of Community Engagement: Blue Jays for Baltimore Collaborate with the Bentalou Recreation Center

These rules, created by the legendary Coach Herman Johnson, have transformed the Bentalou Recreation Center into the beating heart of its community. Thousands of kids have matriculated through the program, leveraging their experiences to become college athletes, embark on new careers and even, occasionally, go professional. No one can speak to the impact of this initiative better than alum and Coach Paul Franklin, who, alongside Coach Kelly Phillips, currently leads Bentalou’s basketball program.
