Cover Letter '23

Hello, hello to all the incoming freshmen! We at The News-Letter would like to welcome you to Hopkins!

We understand the worry, nerves, excitement and joy that you all are feeling about entering college. Many of you are experiencing living apart from your family and friends for the first time, and for some of you that means moving to the opposite side of the country or the world! Though this may seem daunting, there are so many great things ahead of you as you enter Hopkins, and we encourage you to make the most of your time in Baltimore.

Through our time here, we have picked up a few ‘tricks of the trade’ that have made our lives easier (and our GPAs higher). In this issue, students from across Hopkins share their reflections and advice on topics ranging from curbing homesickness to Baltimore’s hidden gems. As your loving upperclassmen, we hope these pearls of wisdom will help ease the transition to college life and provide meaningful advice we wish we got when we were freshmen.

Best of luck,

Maria Harar and Molly Gahagen
