Coming off of fall break will be difficult. There are few things that can help you cope with going from New York trips with friends, outings to fall festivals and more, then returning back to campus to be greeted with more homework and exams. To make things at least a little easier, however, take these personal recommendations from this week’s installment of To Watch and Watch For.
October demands mystery. When you’re looking for something to watch, consider Lazarus, an Amazon Prime original TV mini-series. Lazarus follows a man who endures personal loss only to be met with troubling and inexplicable encounters. Full of mystery, this mini-series is certain to be the perfect soft launch into Halloween.
How many of us had to read Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird in high school? Maybe you didn’t like it then, being forced to read it. Or maybe you did. Either way, lovers of her work and skeptics alike should unite to read her newest posthumous collection of short fiction and nonfiction, The Land of Sweet Forever.
College students love artist cupcakKe for blessing them with some of their parties’ greatest hits. For every social event you’ve been to where one of her songs was playing, be sure to return the favor by listening to her newest album, The BakKery, which is sure to work equally well regardless of being played in a party setting or driving down late-night roads with the sunroof open.
English and history enjoyers will be made happy this week by The Writing Seminars’ Reading Series, which boasts a reading from Paul Muldoon on his history of Ireland in 10 poems. The poems feature historical events in verse from the Vikings to modern day. This interdisciplinary evening is one to not be missed.
