Nationally renowned country singer Toby Keith is coming to Baltimore. A hulking, muscular 6' 4", with a huge cowboy hat and boots, fitted jeans, open-collared shirts, and a goatee, he has mastered both the country look as well as the music.
Prior to gaining much respect as a country singer, Keith worked in the oil industry and played defensive end with the Oklahoma City Drillers United States Football league. Since 1984, he has made the decision to devote all of his time to music. Recently, his 2002 album "Unleashed" sold three million copies due to its popular hit song "Who's Your Daddy," as well as another favorite, a duet with Willie Nelson: "Beer for My Horses." He tours year-round. Keith has been nominated for numerous awards, including nominations for seven Country Music Awards. Though not having won any of the awards, his 2003 album "Shock 'n Y'all" debuted at No. 1 on the charts. Most recently, he co-produced the debut album for one of his band members, Scotty Emerick. This album is due to be released in 2004.
Keith's tour-stop in Baltimore is on Sunday, Feb. 15 at the 1st Mariner Arena at 7:30 p.m. For more information about the concert, visit the Baltimore Sun's website at http://www.baltimoresun.com. For ticket purchases and directions to the 1st Mariner Arena, go to http://www.ticketsnow.com.
