Women’s basketball has reached unprecedented levels of recognition from new stars like Cailtin Clark and talented vets like Aja Wilson. That being said, women’s basketball players have rather low-paying salaries and are mostly required to compete overseas during the offseason to continue producing income. Players often leave their families, spouses and kids to provide financially. That is, until Unrivaled.

Spring training is now underway, marking the unofficial end of Major League Baseball free agency. This year’s iteration was a tumultuous one. The upcoming CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) negotiations loomed over this free agency period as the MLBPA (Players’ Association) and the Owners’ Association prepare to do battle at the conclusion of the 2026 season. MLB teams also had a clear shift in strategy this offseason, migrating away from long mega deals in favor of shorter deals with higher AAVs (Annual Average Values). Here are the key takeaways from free agency and what effects they could have as we barrel towards opening day of the 2026 MLB Season.

With the Seattle Seahawks’ victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX, Seahawks QB Sam Darnold has reached the summit of professional football. However, his climb has been anything but smooth. Darnold’s career shows that the combination of perseverance, dedication and the right support can completely warp one’s trajectory.

This is a historic year for the twelve nations competing in hockey at the Milano-Cortina Olympics. These twenty days in February are a welcome break from the NHL season. Competition started on Feb. 11, and ends on Sunday, Feb. 22. While I enjoy watching my city play, there’s nothing like routing for your country to take gold. While I could do a detailed game-by-game breakdown, these jerseys caught my eye and they deserve their own spotlight. To preface, this is just my take almost purely based on aesthetics.

Leonid Kotov is a junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Economics and is an essential member of the Hopkins Men’s Fencing team. His weapon of choice is sabre. In his junior year of high school, Kotov earned a gold medal in the 2022 USA Summer Nationals. Upon his arrival to the collegiate fencing scene, Kotov was awarded the 2023-24 US Fencing Coaches Association National DIII Sabre Newcomer of the Year. He followed this with being named to the USFCA Mid-Atlantic/South All-Region in 2025.

Super Bowl Sunday is upon us! This year’s iteration of the unofficial American holiday features the New England Patriots pitted against the Seattle Seahawks. Even among Super Bowls, this one is drawing more eyes than most. The last time these two teams met in the Super Bowl, it resulted in one of the best football games ever, culminating in the iconic line “the pass is intercepted at the goal line by Malcolm Butler,” as the Seahawks quarterback Russel Wilson turned the ball over with just seconds remaining on the clock. The Patriots are hoping they’ve already found Tom Brady’s heir apparent in MVP candidate quarterback Drake Maye, whose stellar play, combined with a staunch defense orchestrated by mastermind head coach Mike Vrabel, has vaulted New England back into the Super Bowl. For the Seattle Seahawks, the formula for their success has been the resurgence of quarterback Sam Darnold and an all-time great defense. All that being said, here are our best guesses for who will win Super Bowl LX:

From heat to heartbreak to history in the making, this year’s Australian Open (AO) brought it all. Using new marketing strategies incorporating interactive fan experiences in the opening, AO quadrupled the 7,543 who sat in for qualifying matches in 2025 to a whopping 29,261 this year. Beyond the heightened audience excitement off court, the high-intensity later stages of the tournament proved to fans worldwide why AO remains the battleground for where champions are made.

The semester may just be kicking into gear, but the spring sports are just starting to bloom and the winter sports are putting up some chilling wins. It’s the best of both worlds: thrilling lacrosse matches with a snowy and gorgeous Homewood campus as a backdrop, or an indoor gym where you can cheer in comfort.

The Road to Milano Cortina may be winding to an end, but we’re cruising through a hectic section where you must constantly check your mirrors or you’ll miss the action. It has been snowy here in Baltimore recently, so as you skate in the new ice rink or sled down the beach, imagine the training and skill of these athletes who have qualified.

If the 2021 F1 championship race embodied the song “Skyfall” by Adele, the lead up to the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was the epitome of “The Final Countdown” by Europe. I have been covering the 2025 F1 season since its kickoff in March, and the stories that have emerged were constant page turners. This was it, the race that would determine the Driver’s World Champion, the driver who would be allowed to change their number to 1 next season, the driver who would receive unparalleled prestige on the international stage.

In less than two months, all eyes will be on Italy. The country is not unfamiliar with hosting the Olympics, having previously held the 1960 Summer Games (Rome), the 1956 Winter Games (Cortina d’Ampezzo) and the 2006 Winter Games (Turin). This time over 3,500 athletes gather in this iconic hotspot, representing 93 countries. Uniquely, the Games will be spread out over 250 miles between Milan and Cortina, and will also span twelve venues across a multitude of regions in Northern Italy.

If one were to look up the definition of a traditional college football powerhouse, the Indiana Hoosiers would likely be the antithesis of that. Over the 127 seasons that Indiana has played, they have won only two conference titles, finished ranked in the final AP poll 7 times and won at least 10 games in a season once (last year). Until the last few weeks, Indiana had the most losses of any DI football program of all time, a stat that’s partially a product of how long the program has existed, but also due to perpetual mediocrity.

The FBI has arrested more than 30 players, coaches and other NBA affiliates in connection with an ongoing investigation into illegal gambling and insider betting. These indictments, which became unsealed in October, provide evidence of an alleged network of sports betting activity. They also exposed an underground poker operation, which they linked to organized crime. FBI director Kash Patel told the media that this was one of the largest gambling-related scandals in modern professional sports.
