Letter: MSE, Brody to remain separate but complementary

By admin | April 23, 2015

To the Editors:

Thank you for your April 16 editorial “MSE Should Not Become Another Brody.” More than 1,100 library users, the vast majority of them undergraduates, participated in our survey, and we are grateful that so many took the time to share their thoughts and opinions with us. We are beginning to review the data now and will share these findings with the community in coming months. We have participatory design exercises slated for later this semester and will plan additional outreach for early next fall based on our survey findings.

We are determined to get this right and to engage as much as possible with students and faculty so that a revitalized Eisenhower Library truly reflects our users’ needs and aspirations. At the same time, please know that we have no plans to “fix” what isn’t broken and very much understand the valuable complementarity that exists between Brody and Eisenhower. Thanks again for focusing attention on this exciting project.

Sincerely, Winston Tabb Sheridan Dean of University Libraries and Museums
