Former Cypriot Central Bank Governor speaks: defends record and talks Euro crisis
By BEN KUPFERBERG | April 25, 2013Former Cypriot Central Bank Governor Athanasios Orphanides, spoke at Hopkins on April 19 about the Euro Area crisis. Orphanides presided as Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus from May 2007 to May 2012 and was a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank between Jan. 2008 and May 2012. Orphanides also previously taught graduate and undergraduate economics classes at Hopkins, while serving as a Senior Adviser at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.
