On Wednesday evening, the Spring Fair committee, the HOP and WJHU announced in an e-mail to the student body that Passion Pit will be performing at the 41st Spring Fair on April 20. Kingsfoil will also be performing.

"Passion Pit was sort of a group effort between Spring Fair, The Hop and WJHU. Each group has its own unique financial constraints, but we decided that we wanted to throw something awesome for the student body and the only way we could do that was if we all came together," Executive Chair of Spring Fair senior Drew Rosenberg said.

"Each of the three organizations polled our members and came up with top 10 lists and we threw them up on a white board and tried to find similarities. We figured in our budget and that made it a lot more narrow of a search … we worked really hard to find a headliner that would work well with our theme and put on a good show."

The three groups made their selection based on what they think would appeal to the general student body.

"We have to look at someone who's more up and coming that someone our age would know," junior Advertising Chair Hussan Yasin said.

The theme for this year is "Peace, Love and Spring Fair." The committee had also discussed themes relating to space, cowboys, zombies and pirates; successful themes have been re-used throughout the years, so finding a fresh theme was important to the committee.

The weekend's line-up of performances is not yet complete, as the designated musical committees plan to showcase musicians from this campus as well as other local colleges and high schools.
