It was business as usual for the men’s basketball team this past week, as they rounded out the regular season with two wins against Centennial Conference opponents Washington College and Haverford College.

W. Fencing takes second at Eastern Conference Championship

This past weekend, the women’s fencing team hosted the 2018 Eastern Women’s Fencing Conference Championship (EWFC) in Goldfarb Gym, taking second place in the team championship behind only the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks. The Blue Jays ended their day 6-1, their only loss coming from a close 13-14 matchup against the Ducks.

M. Lacrosse loses the Battle of Charles Street

In the 52nd edition of the Battle of Charles Street, the visiting ninth-ranked Hopkins men’s lacrosse team was unable to repeat the magic from last year’s overtime victory. Falling for just the fifth time in the rivalry’s history, the Blue Jays were taken down by the No. 14 Loyola University Maryland Greyhounds 12-5.

Olympic sanctions on Russia are not enough

If you have been following the Winter Olympics closely, you might have noticed the strange name that Russian athletes are being called by announcers and broadcasters. Instead of competing as representatives of the Russian Federation, these athletes are competing under the name “Olympic Athletes from Russia.” This is definitely a bit strange, but there is a tremendous scandal lying underneath the surface.

Athlete of the Week: Lillian Scott

Tuesday night, the women’s basketball team began their playoff run with the hope of extending their three-game winning streak to end the regular season. Hosting their the play-in game, the Jays took on the fifth-ranked Ursinus College Bears in the first round of the Centennial Conference Tournament.

W. Basketball ends regular season with two wins

The Hopkins women’s basketball team picked up two wins against the Washington College Shorewomen and the Bryn Mawr College Owls this past week to finish out the regular season. Both of these games were won by two strong, balanced offensive and defensive efforts. The Jays scored over 60 points in each game and held their opponents to under 50.

Women's Lacrosse dominates 14-7 on opening day

The 22nd-ranked Hopkins women’s lacrosse team got their 2018 season off to a hot start this past Friday against the Marquette University Golden Eagles. Marquette midfielder Grace Gabriel took advantage of a free-position shot less than a minute into the first half, finding the back of the net to give the Golden Eagles an early 1-0 lead.

This past weekend, the Hopkins men’s and women’s track and field teams headed to Boston, Mass. for the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. During the two days of competition, the Jays saw a variety of strong performances from both the men and the women.

This offseason’s quarterback carousel will be one of the most eventful in recent memory. With Super Bowl MVPs, Heisman winners and former Pro Bowlers among the quarterbacks potentially on the move, there will be no shortage of headline deals in the coming months.

Men's Basketball wins double overtime thriller

The Hopkins men’s basketball team won a thriller on Saturday in their last regular season game in Goldfarb Gym. They upset the 11th-ranked Swarthmore College Garnet 93-91 in double overtime. The weekend victory marked their second double-overtime win against a ranked opponent of the week.

W. Basketball split games to secure fourth in Conference

This past week, the Hopkins women’s basketball team faced two Centennial Conference foes, the Haverford College Fords and the Swarthmore College Garnet. Prior to their game against Haverford last Wednesday, the Blue Jays had come out victorious in four of their previous five Conference games, with their only defeat coming from the first-place Gettysburg College Bullets.





Why rooting against a top team is fun

As Philly fans continue to run through the streets of the City of Brotherly Love in just their underwear, Patriots fans are beginning to try and cope with the reality that they lost the Super Bowl to a backup quarterback.
