The Student Government Association (SGA) convened for its fourth meeting of the semester on Feb. 13. They began with a three minute moderated caucus to consider whether they had sufficient turnout to begin voting, as only 26 of 47 members were present. Since turnout was over 50%, it was decided that a quorum was present. SGA then initiated voting producers on the position of chief advisor, which was discussed in the last meeting. Through paper ballot voting, the motion was rejected by a vote of 13 against, 10 for and one abstaining.

The Student Government Association (SGA) convened for their weekly general body meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 10 to discuss the draft of the Climate Action and Sustainability Plan, the Major Fair, the Executive Liaison Program and the Cross-Campus Relations Initiative. SGA also presented and voted on various bills and confirmed a new treasurer for the Sophomore Class Programming Council.

The Committee on Student Elections (CSE) announced the results of the 2023–2024 Student Government Association (SGA) Executive Board and class council elections on the evening of March 15, three hours after voting closed. Out of the five executive board positions, only vice president was uncontested.

With another spring semester, the next Student Government Association (SGA) Executive Board election is upon us. This year, most positions are not uncontested, which is a welcome improvement from years prior. We hope that the increased number of candidates marks the start of SGA building itself back up.
