Cozy up to October with a weekend full of theater, festivals, and fall flavor.

Events this weekend (Oct. 10–12)

The second weekend of October brings a mix of festivals, art and performance to the city. You can start Friday with a classic whodunit on stage or seasonal brews at the Zoo, then spend Saturday at Fell’s Point’s waterfront festival or catch the closing day of The Brave at Galerie Myrtis. On Sunday, Opera Baltimore rounds out the weekend with Puccini’s Tosca, a sweeping production of love and betrayal.

A Hopkins student's night out

Life at Hopkins can easily become all-consuming, but Baltimore has too much to offer to ignore. Sometimes the best study break isn’t coffee and flashcards — it’s loaded fries, a late-night cinema run and memories that remind you there’s a whole world waiting outside of campus.

My briny Saturday at Fells Point Oyster Fest

When my significant other and I found out Fells Point would be hosting its traditional oyster festival, we knew we had to go and take our friends with us. And it was for a good cause: The event organizers partnered with the Oyster Recovery Partnership to help support oyster population restoration in the Chesapeake Bay.

Events this weekend (Sept. 19–21)

The weather looks warm and sunny, which makes this a good weekend to get out into Baltimore. You can hear improvised sets at High Zero, listen to local bands at Belvedere Square, check out large-scale festivals downtown or spend a quieter afternoon with the new exhibition at the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA).

At Mocha and Pearl, enjoy inventive boba creations alongside fresh coffee and desserts in a cozy cafe setting.

Between sips and cities: measuring homesickness in sugar levels

During the first week of college, my roommates and I walked to Kung Fu Tea. We had just moved into our dorms and barely knew the city, but boba felt like a safe place to begin. I ordered my usual: brown sugar milk tea with 50% sugar and light ice. It did not taste bad. But it did not taste like home.

Baltimore’s best wings: five spots worth the mess

In Baltimore, wings are more than just a late-night craving. They’re comfort food, a neighborhood staple and for many newcomers, their first delicious introduction to the city’s food scene. Whether youu2019re chasing that classic Old Bay hit or craving a fusion twist, these five spots prove that Baltimore knows how to do wings right.

Events this weekend (April 25–27)

With low-70-degree weather and sunny skies ahead, it’s the perfect time to take a break and soak up some fresh air. As we enter the last full week of classes, there is a mix of energy and exhaustion in the air, but that does not mean the fun has to wait until Spring Fair — there is plenty happening off campus too.
