Speaker: The Bid for Statehood

At an event hosted by the Coalition of Hopkins Activists for Israel (CHAI), Dr. Jonathan Schanzer will be talking about the history of Palestine and discussing the implications behind their effort to seek statehood.

In a couple of weeks, Palestine will likely be applying for full membership in the United Nations.

Schanzer hails from the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

In addition to CHAI, "The Palestinian UN Statehood Bid: The History and Implications" is co-sponsored by the following organizations:

College Democrats, College Republicans, Sigma Iota Rho (the International Studies Honor Society), Hopkins Hillel, Hasbara Fellowships, StandWithUs and Real Partners. Real Peace.

This event will run from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15 in Gilman 50.

Admission is free.
