Hopkins Dean Adam Falk selected as president of Williams College

By Marie Cushing | October 1, 2009

Williams College has chosen Hopkins Dean of Arts and Sciences Adam Falk to be their 17th president.

Falk will assume the presidency on April 1, 2010, according to a University-wide announcement sent out Wednesday night.

"As much as we will miss you here, we will be gratified in the knowledge that such a noteworthy and important sister institution is in your capable hands," Hopkins President Ronald Daniels wrote in the announcement.

The University has begun plans for selecting a replacement dean, but the announcement did not provide a time line or details on the selection process.

Falk began his tenure at Hopkins in 1994, rising from assistant professor of physics and astronomy to dean in 2006. He has been a major driving force behind the ongoing renovation of Gilman Hall and a strong supporter of the Advanced Academic Programs.
