By Max Dworin | October 25, 2007

Winning on Senior Day is nothing new to the women's soccer team. With Saturday's 8-0 rout of the Bryn Mawr Owls, 2007's group of seniors capped off a another undefeated Senior Day and locked up a spot in the Centennial Conference playoffs. With the win, the Jays moved their overall record to 11-4-1 and their conference record to 7-1.

Junior midfielder Lisa Irizarry got the Jays on the board in the fourth minute with her third goal of the season after a pass from senior captain Kim Lane. That was all the scoring Hopkins would actually need against the Owls, who are still without a win in Centennial Conference play. However the women continued their onslaught just for good measure.

Senior captain and defender Cassandra Vogel made her senior mark by scoring in the 14th minute. The goal was her third of the season. Junior forward Molly Steele, who led the team in points on the afternoon with one goal and two assists, got her first assist of the game on the goal.

The Jays added six more goals before the final whistle blew, with two more in the first half. Of the four of the second half, two goals were charged to the Owls themselves.

Hopkins's goalies - senior starter Kerry Hamilton, sophomore Jessica Cynowiec and sophomore Naomi Sell - dhing but the team to beat heading into the postseason.
