The Hopkins women’s soccer team will enter the NCAA D-III Tournament with momentum on their side after emerging triumphant this weekend in the Centennial Conference Championship. On Saturday, they toppled the Swarthmore Garnet 3-1, and the following day they avenged their loss from earlier this season against the McDaniel College Green Terror with another 3-1 win.

This past weekend, the Hopkins Women’s Fencing Team headed to Philadelphia for the 2016 Elite Invitational. The competition was fierce, and the Jays certainly had their work cut out for them facing North Carolina, Northwestern University, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton, Temple and Yale.

The mid-afternoon rain stopped just in time for another kickoff last Friday. The seventh-ranked Blue Jays tallied another Centennial Conference victory, knocking off the Gettysburg Bullets by a score of 54-14. The Blue Jays not only improved their Centennial Conference record to 6-0, but also set the Centennial Conference record for most consecutive league victories with 34 wins.

Although I can attend games much less frequently now that I am in college, each and every trip to the stadium brings back that same overwhelming feeling of excitement: the shiver that runs down my spine as the players exit the tunnel in a sea of blue and red before kickoff; the giddiness that overcomes me whenever they break a big play on offense or come up with a critical third down sack; that feeling of childlike euphoria that I don’t think I will ever lose.
