Through both the good economic times and the bad, would-be freshmen line up every spring for the mere chance to shell out the $35,000 a year it costs to attend a private university like Johns Hopkins.

Hopkins saw its four game win streak fall as the No. 13 Terrapins defeated the No. 17 Jays after racing to an 8-1 first half lead and holding on to the advantage from there.

In a dramatic, come-from-behind victory against the No. 13 ranked team in the country, the Women's Lacrosse team battled back from a 9-6 deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Ohio State Buckeyes by a score of 11-10. Senior attacker and team captain Erin Wellner was the hero as she scored a free position goal with 22 seconds remaining to give the Blue Jays the win. The victory against the Buckeyes, a crucial American Lacrosse Conference foe, propelled the Jays to their seventh win in their last eight games. This win also marks the highest-ranked team that Hopkins has ever defeated.

Continuing their dramatic turnaround, the Women's Lacrosse team won their sixth game of the past seven on Saturday as they defeated the Richmond Spiders 14-8 on the road in Virginia. The Blue Jays were aided by the dominating performances of two of their top scorers as senior attacker Jamie Larrimore contributed five goals and added an assist, while sophomore midfielder Heidi Pearce also contributed five goals to lead the Jays to victory.

The win came in front of a crowd of over 4,500 people in a heated contest that featured three lead changes and seven ties.
