Ben Kweller has a very boring voice. You don't notice it really, because he masks it so well. He hides it behind enormously charming chords, enthusiastic production and adolescent lyrics. But Ben Kweller is no adolescent and those tricks don't work as well as they did on his promising debut, Sha Sha, on his follow up On My Way.

Sure, each relationship is different. Each arrangement of strong feelings and bonds between men and women involve different circumstances and bloom from different sources. But certain common mistakes plague almost all relationships and draw fascinating portraits of the thought processes of normal college males and females. Females in particular seem to draw upon similar wells of inaccurate assumptions, regardless of the facts of their relationships.

If Interpol is going to be forever compared to Joy Division, then The Stills are the new New Order. It's an unfair characterization, just as with Interpol, but at times on their debut, Logic Will Break Your Heart, you'd swear you'd stuck in Power, Corruption and Lies in your CD player. That's a good thing.
