2/14:

Mumford & Sons: English folk-rock band Mumford & Sons  is coming to nearby George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. After their performance at the Grammys a few years ago, this band has been steadily rising in popularity. The performance will likely feature songs from their new album, Babel, released in September 2012. 8 p.m., Patriot Center, George Mason University.

Flashdance: Catch Flashdance The Musical before it leaves Baltimore! This show is based on the 1983 movie about a young woman’s efforts to become a professional dancer. Flashdance ends its short run at the Hippodrome with a final performance on Sunday evening. 8 p.m., Hippodrome Theatre.

 

2/15:

Greek Bock Show: The National Pan-Hellenic Council Blockshow showcases Black Greek Letter organizations. The NPHC Blockshow has been entertaining and educating the Hopkins community since its debut in 2005. 7-10 p.m., Glass Pavilion, Levering.

Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin: A woman named Bubbly who learns to embrace her color is the subject of this “smartly sweet” musical by Kirsten Childs. Catch the Baltimore premiere of this humorous coming-of-age story at the Strand Theater. The plays deals with subjects of sexism, racism and self-acceptance. Opening night tickets are $25. 8 p.m., Strand Theater. The show runs until Feb. 23.

Nick Offerman: Nick Offerman is known for playing the inscrutable Ron Swanson on popular NBC comedy Parks & Recreation. This weekend, however, the comedian will visit D.C. for two Friday night shows. If you really want to get in the spirit, show up with your Ron Swanson inspired “Give me all the Bacon and Eggs You Have” T-shirt. 8 p.m. & 10:30 p.m., Warner Theater, Washington D.C.

Witness Theater Intersession Showcase: Curious about what Witness Theater members were up to over winter break? Then check out their Intersession Showcase this weekend! The performance features five student written, directed and produced plays. It only costs $3 for students with J-card, $5 for general admission. 8 p.m., Swirnow theatre, Mattin Center. Repeat performances on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.

 

2/16:

Mental Notes A Capella Concert: Come see JHU’s own comedy a capella group in concert this Saturday night. If that’s not enough incentive, there will also be special guests. 8 p.m., Schafler auditorium, Bloomberg.

Rocky Horror Picture Show: Looking for an alternative way to spend Valentine’s Day weekend? Come see the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Midnight, Arellano Theatre, Levering.

Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower Open House: The Emerson Bromo Seltzer Tower was constructed in 1911 and has since been a historic Baltimore landmark. Today it is a studio space for visual and literary artists. This Saturday at the Open House you  can enjoy drawings, sculptures, paintings, video, photographs and theatrical performances. There will also be clock room tours every hour from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
