I know that this is going to be a messy goodbye and I don’t quite know how to put my thoughts into words. I’ve felt it in the group chats we’ve made with other graduating editors as we’ve transitioned from Slack messages into text conversations. It’s in the deep sense of pride I feel as I watch the new editors step up to their roles. It’s in the hint of anxiety as I try to stop myself from stepping back into the role I’ve just vacated — stopping myself from becoming that person who’s still clinging onto something that isn’t theirs anymore. It’s in the relief I felt when I allowed myself to turn off my Slack notifications for the first time in years.

I know that I’m a sentimental person. I tend to hold onto the very bits of all my memories, littering my room with the edges of ticket stubs and plane tickets, books that have been bent in a million ways and bills from dinners out with friends. As I add to this collection, I find that my last semester at Hopkins has made me feel more nostalgic than usual. I’m thinking back to all my memories — from all the seemingly insignificant ones that now define who I am to the tears and frustrations that I think have made me more resilient. To be honest, it hasn’t been easy; I’m sure many at Hopkins can relate to how this school has pushed us to the brink. However, at the end of the day, I think my four years here will hold a special place in my heart.

I don’t remember the first time I ever watched a sports game. I think it might have been Minor League Baseball when my family trekked to a local stadium when we lived in Pennsylvania. Or, it might have been watching the World Cup with my dad and my sister.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, held on Sunday, Nov. 26, marked the end of the 2023 Formula 1 (F1) Championship. It was somewhat of a dramatic finale — although both Drivers and Constructors Championships had long been decided due to Max Verstappen’s unwavering dominance. Ferrari and Mercedes went into the last race of the season with the intention of claiming second place in the Constructors Championship. A risky strategy call by Ferrari, which ended up forcing Carlos Sainz to a second pitstop, coupled with strong race performances by George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, led Mercedes to finish three points ahead of the Prancing Horses.
