This past weekend Levering Hall played host to JohnCon 2014, adding yet another installation to the long history of the annual gaming convention. In response to the reductions in content and participation in recent years, the JohnCon organizers sought to turn the event around by increasing sponsorship, publicity and diversity of activities.
After a brief hiatus, the Johns Hopkins Italian Club has been restored under a new management with a new vision for the direction of the club. Above all, the Italian Club is now seeking to take on a novel social dynamic which will make it more accessible to a larger proportion of Hopkins students.
Between Thursday and Sunday, the Johns Hopkins Model United Nations Conference (JHUMUNC) hosted a total of 1,680 high school students from all over the world at the Hilton Baltimore, making JHUMUNC XVII the largest conference in the history of the undergraduate organization.
JHU Politik, the club behind the weekly opinion-based Politik Press, plans to break new ground by launching an online video series in the near future. The producers hope that the effort will build on the Politik’s growth as a club in recent years, as well as offer an outlet for Hopkins students with a penchant for broadcast journalism to also express their opinions.
The Student Government Association (SGA) Senate unanimously approved the Hopkins Wading Team’s application for official recognition on Tuesday.
