Singer Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn met at the Cactus Club in Milwaukee, Wis., but both were involved in other projects at the time. According to an article on Partisan Records’ website, When Meath asked Sanborn to remix one of her singles, “Play It Right,” Sanborn “sensed that there was something more important here than a one-time handoff.” They knew that magic had sparked.

The 29 year old was born and raised near Detroit, Michigan. After graduating high school, Posner chose to attend Duke, but during his first few semesters, he quickly got into record producing. He started making tracks with Big Sean, a hometown friend, and was featured on Big Sean’s first mixtape. When Posner started making his own mixtapes, people were quick to notice. After his junior year at Duke, he signed a record deal with J Records. Instead of taking a leave of absence, he attended classes during the week and toured and recorded new songs for his debut album on the weekends.

At the age of just 15, Romy and Oliver formed a duet; Jamie joined soon after. In 2009, The xx released their debut album under the title xx with the British independent record label Young Turks. Overall, xx had a great reception, with it ranking as number nine on Rolling Stone’s list of the best albums of the year.

Up and coming band Royal Teeth creates music that can delight anybody. The band consists of four members, Gary Larsen, Nora Patterson, Thomas Onebane and Josh Hefner, all from Louisiana. They are currently touring with alt-rock band Rooney in anticipation of their Nov. 18 release of their new EP, Amateurs, from Round Hill Records. The News-Letter’s Hayley Bronner was able to sit down for a phone interview with singer Gary before their Baltimore concert. Here is what he had to say about touring, New Orleans and their new EP.

The Mowgli’s have been around since 2010, but have already made their mark. They originate from Calabasas, Calif., where a few of the founding members grew up. They are signed to Def Jam Records. The band consists of Colin Dieden, Katie Parvin, Dave Appelbaum, Josh Hogan, Matthew Di Panni and Andy Warren; Quite a lot of people for an alternative rock band, but they all flow together perfectly.

Three sisters Allison, Meegan and Natalie Closner sound like all of your dreams blended into one band as their sweet voices fill your headphones. They grew up in Oregon with two creative and artistic parents. Their father was a jazz singer and drummer while their mother was a theatre teacher. From a young age, Natalie was always the performer who was able to command the attention in the room, even if it was just family. Meanwhile Allison and Meegan, who are twins, stayed out of the spotlight, but sometimes participated in their mom’s musical theatre productions. Eventually Natalie went off to college and attempted to pursue her own music career seriously.

Americans have been enjoying Coca-Cola for 130 years, but the recipe has definitely changed over the years. A Confederate colonel named John Pemberton created the first recipe for Coke in 1885 when he needed to find a cure for his morphine addiction. It was first sold in Atlanta, Ga. in 1886 as a patent medicine, because Pembroke claimed that it cured morphine addiction, dyspepsia, neurasthenia, headaches and impotence.

One of our many first foods was most likely pasta of some sort so naturally cheese-covered pasta couldn’t have been too far behind. Many of us don’t remember a time when we didn’t eat mac and cheese on a regular basis. It’s probably even more prevalent in our current diets than it was when we were young! It was a staple back in the day but is a necessity in college. What is easier to make and more delicious than cheese-covered pasta? Nothing.

Jesse McCartney stole young girls’ hearts all around the world. He was only 12 when he first joined a young boy band called Dream Street. He stuck with the band for about three years until he left to launch the solo career that made him famous. His debut solo album called Beautiful Soul was released in September 2004, and every preteen fell in love.

Lunchables were first introduced in 1985 in order to increase sales of Oscar Meyer’s deli meat. They were targeted towards working mothers and their children so that women wouldn’t have to worry about making hearty school lunches for their children. They were designed to look like TV dinners with compartments separating each food item.
