JOHN D'CRUZ / GRAPHICS EDITOR Take a break from studying to check out these events in Baltimore this weekend!

With midterms picking up, it’s important to take some time this weekend to relax and recharge! Check out these events if you’re in need of an entertaining study break.

Friday

First Friday’s Comedy Competition, 7:00 p.m.

Head to Busboys & Poets on Friday night to enjoy dinner while attending a comedy show! Each set can only last five minutes, and the crowd will collaborate with a panel of judges to decide the funniest set of the night. Up to 10 comedians will be able to perform — if you’re interested in performing yourself, arrive by 6:45 p.m. to secure your place in the set! Performers must pay a $23.18 entrance fee, with profits going toward a cash prize for the winning comedian.

Party Karaoke, 9 p.m. 1 a.m.

Impress all of your friends with your singing skills (or just your confidence!) at the Tin Roof this Friday night. Enjoy both drinks and food as you show off your favorite karaoke songs!

Saturday & Sunday

Baltimore Street Food Festival, 28 p.m.

Head to Power Plant Live! this weekend to enjoy live entertainment, games, refreshments and street food items all priced at $5 or less! Those who are 21+ can also enjoy a beer garden at the festival and a free first drink after purchasing a ticket. Tickets are around $20 with fees.

Saturday

Third Annual Pig Day Celebration, 13 p.m.

Head to the corner of Washington Boulevard and Poppleton Street in — where else — Pigtown this weekend to celebrate Pig Day! Activities include a Potbelly Pig Petting Zoo and craft activities. There will also be an opportunity to raise funds for Whispering Rise Farm & Animal Sanctuary. Read more here
