After originally deciding to cancel the 2021 National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star Game back in November of last year, the league, in agreement with the Players Association, changed its mind and decided that the game will take place on March 7 in Atlanta. Aside from the fact that the league may want to recover from its loss of revenue last season, having an All-Star Game this year makes little sense.

At the heels of the 2020 National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft, this year’s college basketball season tipped off last week. Based on an extremely limited sample size, I was really impressed with the play of some of the five-star recruits. This year’s National Basketball Association (NBA) offseason is unlike any other year (for obvious reasons). After players approved a Dec. 22 start date for the 2020-21 season, only 71 days exist between the last game of this past year’s Finals and the season opener.

The hardest part of doing school at home for me is not being able to differentiate when I should be doing schoolwork and when I should be using time for myself. What ends up happening most days is that I spend hours in my bedroom, alternating between lying on the floor or sitting hunched over my desk, and either procrastinate by going on YouTube or half-heartedly read assigned texts. The Philadelphia Eagles took on the New York Giants in some National Football League (NFL) intra-division play on Oct. 22. No team seemed to have a clear advantage over the other, as evidenced by the back and forth nature of the game. This aspect, however, did make for an exciting game.

By the time this article is published, the first two games will have already been played in this year’s World Series matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays. Nonetheless, the meeting of these teams features two storylines that are worth covering.

The National Football League (NFL) is slated to kick off on Sept. 10 with the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Houston Texans. All seems to be normal in the sports world, but there is just one problem: The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is still here. So far, 66 players have opted out of playing this season due to concerns of the virus, and understandably so.
