In the midst of the sports desert that the world finds itself in due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the world, people are scrambling to find sources of entertainment. Many sports fans have gone back in time, finding solace in the treasure trove of old games from a number of professional sports leagues. With that, fans have been exposed to the fashion mishaps in the forms of jerseys that existed in the past. And because we enjoy complaining about things, the Sports editors have decided to list some of the worst jerseys in the history of sports.

The Hopkins women’s lacrosse team traveled up to Philadelphia this past Saturday to do battle against the St. Joseph University Hawks. Reeling from their overtime loss to Hofstra the week prior, the Jays faced a tough challenge against St. Joe’s, who were coming off four consecutive victories.

The Hopkins baseball team had a busy weekend on the turf of Babb Field at Stromberg Stadium this weekend, hosting the Baltimore Invitational. The Blue Jays continued the start of their 2020 campaign with a slate of games against the Marietta College Pioneers, the State University of New York (SUNY) at Cortland Dragons and the Roanoke College Maroons.

In the final home meet for the nine seniors on the Hopkins swimming team, the Jays made plenty of history in their last outing before the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championships. After a weekend filled with numerous impressive performances, nine pool records fell at the Blue Jay Invitational.

Last weekend renewed the Battle of Charles Street for the Hopkins women’s lacrosse program. The No. 24 Blue Jays took the short drive to the Ridley Athletic Complex to battle against the No. 11 Loyola University Maryland Greyhounds in this year’s iteration of the rivalry.

Aug. 11, 2016 was the first day I stepped on the Homewood Campus as a student. Like many 18-year-olds, I thought I had a good grasp on who I was and who I wanted to be, and I was so excited for what this new journey would bring me. I was coming to a top university to play football and to study to become a doctor. College was going to be the best years of my life, right?

It’s impressive enough to be undefeated, but it’s even more impressive when your undefeated run has won its 14 straight matches by a margin of 42 sets to six. Hopkins women’s volleyball has been a powerhouse in the Centennial Conference the past three years, winning the conference crown in all three years and amassing a record of 68-21 during that time.

The old saying goes, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight; it’s the size of the fight in the dog.” Next to that saying should be a picture of junior Ryan Hubley, a five-foot-seven, 165-pound wide receiver who has made his presence felt on the Hopkins football program and on any opposing defense that tries to cover him.
