UPDATE: Carjacking suspect arrested on campus
14-year-old was fleeing police when he was arrested Thursday morning

A 14-year-old suspect was arrested after a failed carjacking attempt ended on N. Charles St. and spilled onto the Homewood campus Thursday morning.
Police pursued the suspect onto the Decker Quad after he crashed a stolen vehicle at 33rd and N. Charles Streets shortly before 2 a.m., according to Sgt. Sam Williams of campus safety and security. He was detained by a campus security officer and turned over to city police.
Officers from campus security and the city police department canvassed the area for additional suspects to no avail.
Officers patrolling the campus said the suspects may have been armed, but campus safety officials said they found no weapons on the suspect who was arrested.
According to a security bulletin issued by the University this morning, the boy was a suspect in a robbery that occurred in Northwest Baltimore. He fled the scene in a stolen car until crashing his vehicle on N. Charles St. and running onto campus.
City police and campus security were expected to increase their patrols in the area after the incident.
Two city patrol cars were parked on the corner of N. Charles St. and Art Museum Dr. at about 3 a.m., and multiple campus security vehicles could be seen driving up and down N. Charles St.
