This is absolutely absurd. Ability to withdraw consent aside, there was no force or threat of force - it's not rape in the first degree. Period.

What is wrong with these law makers. Are they a bunch of sexually repressed old men or what? This law is as stupid as the AWA! Insane, feel good laws designed to get votes come election time, yet, destroys families, protects no one, endangers children as well as undermines the very U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights these law makers swore to protect. God have mercy on America.

Uh, I agree with the withdrawn consent being considered rape.

But, uh, 5-10 secs? C'mon.

Good !! I'm loving how f***ed up the legal system has become.

His life is gone. Life is one motion in time and does not turn back.
However, I hope all states adopt this law; because, the more they do this, the less will men be paying attention to rape "victims."

A woman said in my sociology course how horrific rape experiences can be, and a guy asked, "Why ? He was 5 seconds late ?" And we all had a hearty laugh.

Bottomline, the more of these stupid cases, the more we become the laughing stock of the world. Then, the primary protectors of this country, men, are going to realize they are digging their own graves.

So, congrats to the feminists and the women's empowerment groups. You have done a marvelous job at devaluing and vilifying all American men. But, don't expect us to see equals anymore. Equal rights come with equal responsibilities. The "victim" in this case was 18 at the time. The "rapist" was 16. Was she charged with rape ? Was the 22 year old school teacher in the same state who had sex with a 12 year old boy receive jailtime ? No. Women are given probation, while men have their lives ruined.

Thinking back, I deeply regret having joined the military for what I thought this country was about.

Shame on us

I feel sorry for the woman in the sociology course. She made a valid point about the horrific and disgusting nature of rape only to have some immature numbskull turn it into a joke for the other neanderthals to laugh at.

He wouldn't be so quick with the one-liners if he was raped himself, pinned down by some burly gent who doesn't take no for an answer. Now that would be a joke.

Federal Judge Stops New State Sex Offender Law

A federal judge Wednesday put a stop to a new state sex offender law. The law would have reclassified sex offenders putting them in categories based on the crimes they committed.

Opponents say the new system is unfairly targeting non-dangerous offenders.
