Egyptian Sun has a special presence right now on the grounds of JHU and the Baltimore area. Their performance on April 3rd @ Shriver Hall showcased that today's female student can grasp the concepts of modern and traditional bellydance and organize themselves in a respectable fashion that gives it a presence on a college campus, for those to join and perform and for students and afficianados of bellydance to appreciate.
With the solid trainng and dedications from Nikki and Dori, all new students, along with current beginner and intermediate students has set a foundation that is destined to lead a path that may produce future professional bellydancers in the DC/Baltimore area, nationally or further.
Although a lot to grasp at this time, at least this is a fresh start. More college campuses looking to start bellydance clubs, in this area and in the US could learn a lot from the efforts that has been put forth so far by Egyptian Sun.
If today's students can be tomorrow's leaders, then today's bellydance students can do the same for those who want to become professionals in their own right, when the time comes. The caravan has taken off, moving in the right direction that will hopefully lead to an oasis that will make a name for themselves and JHU as the JHU name itself,the same popularity carried with athletics, its hospital, etc.
