I have to agree, tongue piercings are awesome. I have my tongue web done (under your tongue) and i get compliments on it all the time, plus it's fun to play with during those not so fun lecture classes. I highly recommend getting your tongue done!

I have 2 off center piercings and my tongue web pierced. Although it is a pain in the butt to have your tongue swollen for 5 days (in my case since i had all of the piercings done at the same time) now that they're healed i like them a lot, specially because almost no one else has 2 off center piercings and a tongue web piercing.

Tongue piercing's are one of the best piercings around. I haven't had any problems with this piercing and I've had no complaints from my partner when its been used in a sexual manner.

I had my tongue pierced last Christmas, and thought it rocked, but have taken it out in the last few months as I found the excitement to have worn off and just found it plan irritating. But no fear! I put it in now and then! Don't believe the rumours of it closing up after half an hour - I've had mine out for a couple of months now and it's nowhere close to closing. Tongue piercings are good.. in short periods of time - or for a night on the town! :-)

I love my tongue piercing.I also started going up in gauges just a few months ago,and i`m already at a 00G.I get zero complaints from my girlfriend when i use it sexually!

I had my tongue pierced just after my eighteenth birthday last year and i can say my tattoos hurt more than getting it pierced. was really shocked by how much it didn't hurt and the aftercare advice i was given was absolutely spot on.

my partner hasn't yet complained about me using it in a sexual way, but there is no chance of him returning the favour as he hates piercings on himself, hasn't even got his ears pierced anymore yet he is almost covered in tattoos!

I'm 15 and i just got my tongue done every one thought that I was crazy when i got it done yeah, I was scared to eat for like 5 days so water it was,
but i love it now my boyfriend likes it to
my parents on the other hand no so much but I got it done and there's no turning back now and I'm so not taking it out, I went through with it now I'm not taking it out.

Okay you're 15 years old. What are you doing piercing your tongue and why does your boyfriend like it. At 15 years old you don't need a tongue ring you need a barbie doll and your boyfriend shouldnt have any reason to like it since you shouldn't be performing oral sex on anyone anyways. Guess thats why we have the rising teen pregnancy rate.

I'm 19 and I just got my tongue pierced. I've always wanted it because I love the way it looks (like candy!) and how easily I can hide it from my parents and boss. My guy thinks it's adorable, but he knows he won't have my mouth on his junk.

Thanks for this article! I'm getting my tongue pierced in about two weeks, and I'm nervous/ excited/ pertified etc but reading this has made me feel better. Really hope I'm not on of those unlucky ones where it goes completely icky. =P

I got my tongue pierce 2 weeks ago. No I'm sure the sexual stuff isn't bad but just went through a break up and I've done nothing sexual. And when I got it done I was not thinking of sex. I got my tongue pierced to indevidulize myself, and show a part of my style and personality. And also I liked tongue rings and piercings so i thaught I'd try it.

I got mine pierced about 4 days ago just for fun, i didn't have any sexual reasoning behind it. Its just something to do and a good spot for a piercing when you work in a corporate office.

I got my tongue pierced about 3 weeks ago.
I have had quite a few piercings done, most of which i still have. I had always wanted it. just to have it and kind of following in my sisters footsteps.and one day i finally told my boyfriend, and he said if i wanted it just to go for it, but he didnt influence my decision either way. I like it. it is something different that i can show people or not. I have 4 tattoos and a few piercings, but just too look at me (Since i took out the eyebrow ring) you wouldnt know about pretty much any of them. I can hide them all for work, functions etc. that was one of the appealing aspects. The sexual aspect, im sure will pay off a little ;0), and i have no doubt that that is a lot of peoples motivations, but was in no way the reason for my getting it done.

I am 37 years old, and decided to follow my "Wild Hair" idea, and get my tongue pierced. Except I didn't get it done professionally. I wanted to get it done in the comfort of my own home and since my 17 year old daughter knows how to do it, I had her do it for me. Even though she knows what she's doing, she didn't have the proper equipment, so I told her to improvise, and use one of my big needles. So, with her equipment sterilized, along with a new barbell and no clamp, she pierced it. It's healing rather quickly with little swelling, however it does swell more at night when I'm sleeping, making it harder to talk in the morning. Other than that, it's no big deal. She did a great job. I agree though, the healing process can be a quite irritating, but I think it's worth it. It's only been three days, but I am beginning to like it alot.

I have my tounge peirced and that bitch didnt hurt for shit i was scared forever then i did it and i didnt even know he was down till the blood went down my chin i didnt feel a thing. its fun to play with and i get compliments by my boyfriend all the tyme.

I've had my tongue pierced for a year or so now. I have to say I like getting piercings done, so that's probably part of it. But mostly I got my tongue done to help with my oral fixation. The sexual stuff was more of an unexpected benefit than anything else, but as far as I've been told by my female... liaisons, it's quite the benefit indeed. As for girls using them in a sexual manner, I find that a stud can make things *far* worse if the girl isn't very good to begin with, and that it adds almost nothing if the girl is good in the first place.

If you want to get your tongue pierced I'd say go for it, but if you like your teeth and want to keep them I would suggest using PTFE balls on the end of a metal stud. PTFE is the trade name for Teflon. As Teflon is both slippery and soft enough to be self-threading, the damage done to the enamel is quite minimal. Normally used for piercings that induce a large amount of initial swelling, or belly-button piercings on pregnant women, PTFE studs work as well, but I found they were too malleable to avoid biting the piercing off when eating.

Good luck finding a professional and certified piercer pierce your tongue. It's illegal without parental consent. I advise you to wait until you're at least 18, if your mother ignores you about the idea.

I have mine done too. I don't regret having it done at all. It felt like when I peirced my cartlidge. It was a little sore but I got over it. I still like it alot. I got it done for the look of it, nothing sexual. I have had it for over a year and a half now.

My boyfriend however loves it alot. ALOT.

Yea i just got my done two days ago. I wanted it done ever since i was 14, im 20 now! I like it but it is so sore! And i cant chew ne thing so i have been having soup & popsicles! And im constantly thirsty! And right now im talking funny! I was debating to take it out or not, but i think that if i wanted this long i should just tough it out! Its got to get better than this!

haha, I think both, nice article, I got mine pierced about 7-8 weeks ago...by the time I had it on for a month I took it out for 2 hours and the whole was almost closed...1 week later I opened it by myself with my own piercing. and I have no complains from my girlfriend, she loves it, lol.

Hii.. Im gettin my tongue pierced soon and i am not sure if myn is safe to pierce as my cuzon has ad hers and she looked at my tongue and sed she finks my vain is guna get in the way.. How can i check b4 i get it done.? Im sooo Xcited ! Please write bak as soon as.. x x

First of all, learn how to type and spell.
To answer your question, You should have a certified piercer look at your tongue to tell you. Anyway, they don't usually pierce the tongue STRAIGHT thru. They align it a little off next to the vein, so the bar wont puncture it. Don't worry, it still looks cool!!

How come all these 15 year olds are getting piercings and know absolutely NOTHING about them?? CMON! NO WONDER YOUR PARENTS DONT WANT YOU TO HAVE THEM!!!

Anyway, Pain tolerance is different for everybody. If you like pain, then how come youre complaining about it? UGH!!! TEENAGERS! THANK GOODNESS THEY GROW UP!! Anyway, You eat slowly and carefully not to bite down on the piercing or it will hurt. The pain isnt too extreme. It's more of an ache than anything.. unless you bite down on it.. THAT HURTS!!! Dont worry about sleeping... A tongue piercing wont interupt your sleep... but it will interupt your speech but that's only for about a week. You'll talk with a lisp. I advise you to drink slushies and suck on ice. That helps take down the swelling and numbs the pain alil. Dont eat things spicy or acidic... The piercer should be able to answer any questions you may have and give you a list of after care tips and expectations. Hoped this helped.

I am thinking about getting my tongue pierced for my sixteenth birthday next week. Although, school starts immediately after, leaving little to no time for it to heal. Will my tongue look huge or will I talk funny for the begining of the school year?

i got my tongue pierced on wed.it did not hurt but afterwards it hurt like shit.is still swollen now.have not eaten 4 2 days.am waiting 4 swelling to go down.

Hi people i had my tongue done about 2 months ago and i love it aswell. I cooldn't eat for a week but it soon heals i didn't have any bruising or bleeding. I did'nt evan clean it much (BUT DO!) and its still fine. With the sexual thing i have heard its good any way hehe! I would defently recommend getting it done.

I got my tongue pierced a couple of months ago. I really like the way it looks, but it drives me crazy, its like always having something in your mouth, which can get really annoying. do u get more used to it after a while? Also what kind of tongue ring is that in the picture?

I have had my tongue pierced now for about 2 years and I still love it. I even convinced my boyfriend and his lil bro to get one! My boyfriend and I went together to get his tongue done and my bellybutton done. It is just three...two...bam!! and your done! His lil bro is getting his soon and he is stoked!! What the hell happened to one?!?

Me and my boyfriend just got our tongue's pierced yesterday. I actually got it done when I had a real bad sore throat. So now it's hard for me to eat and talk. I was very calm geting this done,except for my mom saying it's goin to hurt. Next thing maybe in the spring. I goin to get my belly button pierced.

I have a snakebite/venom piercing in my tongue one on each side. Although my Girlfriend enjoys them that is not why I got them pierced. I wanted my tongue pierced when I was 15 and by the time I got around to it everyone in austin had a tongue piercing. I decided to do something differentmine is simply for show just a nice topic of conversation and is a great ice breaker at the bar.
